Pronunciation: /sloʊp ˈɪn.tərˌsɛpt fɔɹm/ Explain

The slope intercept form of a linear equation is y = mx + b where m is the slope of the line and b is the y-intercept.

How to Graph a Line in Slope-Intercept Form

One advantage of the slope intercept form is that it is easy to graph. First, plot the y-intercept. Since x is zero for the y-intercept, the point to plot is ( 0, b ). Next plot a point that is one unit to the left of the point and m units higher or lower.
